It was the Denomination’s vision to begin a new church in Columbia County and Charlie Stakely was called to be the organizing pastor. Charlie and his family moved from Montgomery, Alabama to Evans in January of 2000 and the church started with a core of people meeting in a home for bible study and prayer. Soon the group began meeting on Sunday evenings at Stevens Creek Elementary School. After a period of steady growth, the meetings were moved to Sunday mornings and eventually Sunday school began for children and adults.

In December of 2002, the church was formally organized as Redeemer Presbyterian Church and the congregation elected elders and deacons. Charlie was installed as pastor of the new church.

Our DenominationThe Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) has a strong commitment to evangelism, missionary work at home and abroad, and to Christian education. From its inception, the church has determined its purpose to be “faithful to the Scriptures, true to the reformed faith, and obedient to the Great Commission.” The PCA is one of the faster growing denominations in the |
